Tuesday was the first day I started to really feel hungry. I have also noticed now the number of small meals that are eaten throughout the day that I usually take for granted. I’ve also noticed how much my friends talk to me about food.
I have limited myself to one meal a day, but it is usually a filling meal of bread, peanut butter, and jelly. At 5PM on Tuesday, I decided I would help pass the time by reading a book due next week for my history class but by about 15 pages in, I could not concentrate at all and walked back from the park to go eat my dinner meal, but a but earlier than I had wanted.
The days feel much longer when I cannot go do anything. I normally work 4 days a week but I cut it down for this week for the sake of staying close to 2 dollars a day. I also would normally take a quick drive and grab something to eat for lunch like subway, or maybe drive to funland and hit in the batting cages. Now, all I have is books which I can’t really concentrate on, schoolwork, and my computer for certain parts of the day.
Tonight is the dinner discussion, I will bring my backpack loaded with about 16 library books to return so I can kill two birds with one stone. After that, I will spend my first, and maybe my only night in the shantytown. I have class with Professor Humphrey at 8AM and considering I had an issue with my alarm on Tuesday morning, I should make it in plenty of time because I might not sleep at all.
